
As we wait for new episodes of
Big Love, the cast of the polygamy-themed drama series is currently tapping on new projects on the big screen. As reported previously,
Jeanne Tripplehorn is working on
Winged Creatures and
Grey Gardens, while
Ginnifer Goodwin has been cast in
He's Just Not That Into You. Additionally, Amanda Seyfried has also landed herself a new movie gig.
Known to TV viewers as Sarah Henrickson on HBO's
Big Love, Seyfried will soon be forced to combat evil as she stars in the dark comedy-horror film
Jennifer's Body. The upcoming feature is written by Diablo Cody (
The United States of Tara) and directed by Karyn Kusama (
Girlfight).
Described as have a similar tone to
Heathers,
Jennifer's Body features the
Big Love actress as the character Needy, a “plain Jane” best friend to Megan Fox, who plays the titular character Jennifer, a cheerleader possessed by a demon who starts feeding off the boys in a Minnesota farming town. Now, it's up to Needy to kill Jennifer, escape from a correctional facility and go after lead singer Nikolai (
Adam Brody) and his Satan-worshiping rock band, who are responsible for the transformation.
Jennifer's Body also includes Johnny Simmons (
Boogeyman 2, Evan Almighty),
J.K. Simmons (
The Closer, the
Spider-Man film series), Amy Sedaris (
Strangers with Candy, Gym Teacher: The Movie), Chris Pratt (
The O.C., Deep in the Valley), Juno Ruddell (
These Arms of Mine, The Linda McCartney Story), Kyle Gallner (
Veronica Mars, CSI: NY, The Haunting in Connecticut).
Jennifer's Body marks the follow up to writer and producer Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman's collaboration efforts on
Juno. The film is expected to be released next year.
