A big blockbuster film won't stop Big Love star Amanda Seyfried from returning to her Mormon roots. In the aftermath of her film toppling Avatar from its seven-week box office reign, the Dear John star tells MTV that she is very much open to reprising her Sarah Henrickson role in the fifth season of the HBO series.
"It doesn't mean I won't be coming back," she says. "I'll probably guest star on season five."

Citing conflicts with her burgeoning movie career, Seyfried requested to opt out of her
Big Love contract. After marrying Scott (Aaron Paul) early this season, she'll say goodbye as a regular cast member on the show's penultimate episode, set to air on February 28.
"Filming
Big Love was a six-month commitment in Los Angeles and I wanted to move away to New York," she clarifies. "I talked to the writers, I spoke to the producers, the people at HBO, and we all decided that it was OK for me to go."
Nevertheless, the 24-year-old says leaving
Big Love and seeing her character grow were both "exciting." The freedom to pursue a movie career, meanwhile, was a breath of fresh air.
While
Dear John was stable in box office, it wasn't received by critics as well as Seyfried's previous movies, such as
Mamma Mia and
Mean Girls. Like other Nicholas Parks-inspired tearjerkers, it was deemed cliché and formulaic.
