Man, this has been a boring week. I know the houseguests, and many
Big Brother fans, were all excited about Janelle's visit and hosting of the Power of Veto competition, but I wasn't. I'm not a Janiac, so it wasn't the highlight of my week. I was more interested to see how Jessica and Jameka would take to being on the block against each other and how Dick and Daniele would play it this week.
Alas, boredom set in around Monday afternoon. They sleep all day and stay up all night. The problem is that they are still boring at night. At first I was quite entertained by their nightly games, but at this point, quarters is boring. Heck, even Dick and Zach's frisbee game was exciting in the scheme of things. Sad, I know.
The house is basically split into two groups. Jessica, Jameka and Eric form one group and Dick, Daniele and Zach form the other. Jessica and Jameka have decided that they would not speak to Zach and for the most part, they haven't. I don't know how many times I've turned on the feeds to see Eric's group outside on the patio furniture and Daniele and Zach inside, if they're awake. Dick is the only one to really flow from one group to the other. I'm sure that's to pick up any strategy talk from that group, and to play nice for jury votes, but he's not picked up much.
Dick told Jameka on Monday that she was leaving and told Jessica that she was staying. Jessica wants to believe that their alliance will hold, but she's not convinced, and with good reason. I have to say that I won't be too sad to see her go. For me, she blew her game last week. Before that, she was the fun and bubbly golden girl. Her attitude this week has been pretty rotten, on the other hand, and she got a terrible edit on last night's show. I understand that you're not going to be the life of the party after being nominated, but she's been petulant and downright mean to Eric.
Her behavior this week has blown any thoughts of a real romance between her and Eric right out of my mind. She's been cold and wooden. It seems she blames Eric for her predicament, and to a certain extent he is responsible, but she needs to man up (or woman up) and admit to her own mistakes. She chose to nominate Zach and Amber instead of Dick and Daniele. Had she played her cards right, Zach would have been a great ally instead of an enemy. Had she gotten Daniele out last week, she'd be Queen Bee right now.
I never thought I'd say this, but I sort of feel sorry for Eric right now. For a while I thought he was just using her for the game, but if he's acting, he deserves an Emmy. He's perfected the poor kicked puppy look. He tried to comfort her and she turned away. He hugged her and she was stiff as a board. He feels so guilty and she feeds his guilt. He's going to end up blowing his game for a female.
If Dick and Daniele carry out their plan to vote out Jessica and blindside Eric, he may fall apart. As we know, but the houseguests don't, he won't have time to grieve. If this double eviction is like the one last year, they will have the first eviction and Head of Household competition completed in the first 20 minutes of the show. Then almost immediate nominations and Power of Veto competition by 45 past, then the last live eviction. He'll have to recover quickly, if he is to have any hope, but that may be a good thing for him.
How will the evening shake out? Will Eric be going to sequester with his lady? Will Jameka survive until she can play for Head of Household again? I think the most fun result would be for Jessica to leave and then for Eric to finally win HoH and put up the Donatos in his pain. Anything else would make the last couple of weeks very predictable. If both Dick and Daniele are still in the
Big Brother house at the end of the day tomorrow, you may as well give them the game. It'll be an exciting show, that's for sure. Until then, catch y'all in the forums!
