Jason Priestley catapulted into stardom when he was cast as Brandon Walsh on
Beverly Hills 90210. He played the twin-brother of Brenda (
Shannen Doherty) who was a consistent protagonist of the drama series. Although generally perceived as an ethical character, he gained notoriety for having various relationships with women, including Emily Valentine (Christine Elise), Nikki Witt (Dana Barron), Lucinda Nicholson (Dina Meyer), Susan Keats (Emma Caulfield), Tracy Gaylian (Jill Novick) and Kelly Taylor (
Jennie Garth), whom he almost married. Priestley stopped acting on the show at the beginning of season 9 but remained as an executive producer through the end of the series. This year, the 37-year-old actor will be featured in a string of projects, including a pilot, a miniseries and a TV movie.
Currently airing every Sunday at 9pm ET/PT on Lifetime is the dramedy
Side Order of Life, in which the former
90210 actor marks his comeback as a series regular. He plays the role of Ian Denison, the fiancé of lead character Jenny (
Marisa Coughlan), along with
Diana-Maria Riva and
Christopher Gartin.
Apart from his present project, he will also take part in
Everest, a miniseries based on a true story, and
Termination Point, a science fiction TV movie starring Garry Hudson, both of which are slated to air before the year ends.
Following his exposure on
Beverly Hills 90210, Jason Priestley became more focused on making movies. He worked on numerous features such as
The Fourth Angel, Darkness Falling, Cover Story and
Chicks with Sticks.
Like
90210 costar
Luke Perry, he also guest starred on Jennie Garth's sitcom
What I Like About You, where he played Charlie. More prominently, he was cast as Mike Freed on
Love Monkey, a television series based on the book of the same name, and Jack Harper on the drama
Tru Calling.
