These days it seems that every Bravo Housewife feels entitled to her own spin-off show. Bravo currently airs only one successful spin-off, and that's former
Real Housewives of New York City Bethenny Frankel's show,
Bethenny Ever After.
Our question for today: Which other housewives are rumored to be getting their own shows, and more importantly, which ones
actually deserve it? (And no, being on
Celebrity Apprentice does not count.)
Ready to Watch What Happens
Bethenny FrankelBethenny garnered her own show after three seasons with the
RHNYC. Now the outgoing star is getting ready to air her third season of
Bethenny Ever After (premiering February 20), which focuses on her day-to-day life as a newlywed, a new mother and an overachieving business woman. Bethenny was a favorite on the
Housewives, especially for her quick wit and sharp tongue in dealing with the other 'wives. But now, on her own and in larger doses, her neuroses and brash mouth are slightly unbearable. This is rumored to be B's last season doing her show, and we can't say we'll really miss it when it's gone.
Final Verdict: Over it. Kim Zolciak The
Real Housewives of Atlanta star's new show,
Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding, doesn't air until Spring of 2012, and the filming has already been wrapped. Kim didn't have to leave her origin show to get this more lighthearted spin-off about her journey to marriage. And this show isn't going to be anything more than a one season special. Now we love Kim Z. as much as the next
RHOA fan, but what really sells this spin-off is the fact that we REALLY love Kim and Kroy. Knowing that over-exposure to Mrs. and Mr. Zolciak won't necessarily be a problem, we're looking forward to this spin-off.
Final Verdict: We won't be tardy.
Kandi BurrussKandi is another
RHOA star getting her own show. However, since Kandi has actual talent other than having a lot of money (see her Grammy and Platinum Records for proof), her show will not follow the formula of "a day in the life" docu-drama. The show, called
The Kandi Factory, will feature Kandi helping transform music industry hopefuls into the next big pop stars. We can't wait to see Kandi doing what she does best without all of the drama of the other girls. It will be a refreshing point of view and sounds like it will be fun to watch.
Final Verdict: Must-see Kandi. Regrettable Reality Rumors Jill ZarinWe are not going to spend a lot of time on this one. First,
because we already have, and also because, honestly, we're getting pretty sick of former
Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin. Jill has been squawking ever since she was fired after season four, taking attention anywhere she could get it. Now she's rumored to be pitching a reality show that would be about her moving to LA. And this thrilling piece of television would reportedly be called
Beverly Jillbillies. If just saying the show's
name doesn't make you feel second-hand embarrassment, actually watching it surely would.
Final Verdict: Forget about it. Alex McCordAnother axed
RHONYC is also apparently unhappy with the current state of her joblessness. Alex McCord and (
of course) her Aussie hubby Simon van Kempen are
shopping for their own show that would focus on their life in the Upper East Side. Sound familiar? That's because it's basically
RHONYC, except without their Manhattan counterparts. While shopping their idea around, Alex and Simon claimed that their show would be different from Bravo's
RHONYC, which was a "train wreck" and a "faux reality show." Unfortunately for them, this new show sounds nothing short of a train wreck itself.
Final Verdict: Don't quit your day jobs ... or maybe get a day job. Kelly BensimonAnother sacked
RHONYC star, another Bitter Betty. There haven't been many details released about Kelly Bensimon's alleged new show, but the New York Daily News is reporting that she's looking to film a show based on her upcoming book,
I Can Make You Hot!: The Supermodel Diet. Though it's probably true that Kelly has extensive knowledge on being hot, it seems like a weak hook for her own show. That and, as we saw on season three of the
Housewives, she's a little wacko.
Final Verdict: Until there's more info ... just no. And One Rumor We Really Hope is RealLisa Vanderpump Fabulous fan favorite Lisa Vanderpump of
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is known for her elegance, class and ever-present (often dirty) sense of humor. Now Lisa is
rumored to have taped a pilot with Bravo, and they intend to green light a full series about her and her family. Again, we love Lisa (and Giggy!) but would a whole show about her just get boring? After all, it is harder to manufacture drama when it revolves around one housewife as opposed to several.
Final Verdict: We'll take Vanderpump any way we can get it.
