Later this month FOX will premiere its new comedy,
Ben and Kate, which follows the chaotic lives of a brother and sister. Before it airs here are some casting updates.
According to
Deadline,
The Finder star Geoff Stults has landed a recurring role as single parent who happens to be Kate's (Dakota Johnson) love interest, a single mom trying to raise her daughter, Maddie (Maggie Elizabeth Jones). "Geoff is a tall hunk of man who makes me laugh," expresses Sharon Klein, 20th TV's head of casting. "He's the ultimate 'man's man' and 'ladies man.' He's a big TV star who proved he can anchor a show with his dry wit on
The Finder". Stults' first appearance is during
Ben and Kate's Halloween episode, which is set to air on October 30.
Apart from Stults, Lindsay Sloane has booked a guest starring role as reported by
TV Line. Sloane, who is best known for her roles in
Weeds and
Grosse Pointe, will play the role of Louise, Ben's (Nat Faxon) ex-girlfriend.
Hollywood Reporter, has the scoop on who will play the parents of Tommy (Echo Kellum), Ben's best friend and partner in crime - these are seasoned actors Vernee Watson and Tom Wright. Watson, whose TV credits include
The Big Bang Theory and
Two and a Half Men, will play the role of Gladys Rusling, Tommy's mother. Wright will conversely play Tommy's father, Melvin Rusling.
Will Kate fall head over heels for Stult's character? What should we expect with Sloane's role as Ben's ex? How will Tommy's parents affect Ben and Kate's lives?
