Mike Richards appears as the host of the CW reality television series Beauty and the Geek. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, and is a producer who has also worked extensively as a talk show host for numerous television productions. Richards started off hosting a late night comedy talk show named The Randumb Show back at Pepperdine University, which won a number of college broadcasting awards as well as catching the interest of Emmy Award-winning television personality and businessman Dick Clark. As soon as he graduated from college, Richards immediately started working for The Tonight Show, as well as hosting a Nickelodeon pilot which was called Twisted.
Richards also continued to perform stand-up comedy in Los Angeles, while writing and then appearing in numerous comedy sketches for the Emmy Award-winning NBC talk show Later. Richards then went on to produce Friends and Lovers for the USA network, The Too Late Show for Paramount, and The Weakest Link for NBC. He has also worked with Dick Clark as a senior producer for the daytime strip The Other Half, as well as a senior development executive for Dick Clark Productions. Other productions he has worked on are High School Reunion and the WB’s Family Television Awards.
