Beauty and the Geek's latest two eliminees, and arguably the most controversial team in the house, are
Rebecca Nichols and
Will Frank. They won challenge after challenge, painting a veritable target on their backs. Not only that, Rebecca was involved in the first Beauty-on-Beauty showmance, which may have ruffled the feathers of the other residents of the house. Rebecca and Will talked to BuddyTV together, and spoke about Rebecca's immediate attraction to Sam, Will's fashion sense and what they think of fellow contestant
Jasmine.
Below, you will find an audio mp3 file and a transcript of the interview.
Hey everybody, this is Debbie at BuddyTV, and I'm talking to Will and Rebecca from Beauty and the Geek. Hey guys.
Will: Hey.
Rebecca: Hi.
So, you guys were one of the strongest teams, winning or coming close to winning a lot of the challenges. But then you missed all the questions in the elimination round, so what happened. Was it nerves? How about Will, you go first.
Will: Well, one of the catches in the elimination room is at some degree, it can come down to just pure luck. Did you encounter this factoid out of the hundreds of pages you had to read? The question William got, I was like, “Damn." Not only do I know that one, I know he knows that one because we've gone over it together.
Uh huh, and Rebecca?
Rebecca: Can you repeat the question one more time?
Sure, yes. You missed both of your questions in the elimination room. Was it nerves? What happened there?
Rebecca: For me I had no idea, I didn't remember reading or going over any of those questions. But Jen did get one that I did know, and I knew that she would know it. Actually, they kind of showed a picture of my facial expression, showing like, “Oh God, why couldn't I have got that one?” It wasn't nerves. It was just knowing it.
Yeah, just luck of the draw, I guess.
Rebecca: Yeah.
And Rebecca, after the elimination you said that you thought that Sam might have played you, by putting you up against a strong team. So how did you feel when you found out that it was actually Nicole's idea to do that?
Rebecca: When I found out that it was actually Nicole, I was pretty relieved. I was so worried ever since, I was so confused, I had really mixed emotions. I was hoping that that wasn't the case and my, I started thinking, maybe he set me up, maybe he put us against such strong competitors. And they wanted to, you know, like he wanted to make sure that he was the one who put us in there.
I thought maybe that's why he played me, but then when I found out yesterday that it was actually Nicole, I was surprised. I really didn't know that she had that much of a grudge against us, and she really was going to be that sneaky, and that's why, like that.
Are there any hard feelings?
Rebecca: Any hard feelings against Nicole?
Yeah.
Rebecca: No, I'm one of those types of people, but I just kind of like, accept things for what they are. I'm a pretty forgiving person. I understand why she did it. I mean, what I did to her, I was obviously very disrespectful, and I understand. And I'm not gonna hold any grudge.
Will: The people we met there are too important to lose a relationship over a game.
Rebecca: Yeah, and I don't like to have enemies, I really don't.
Right.
Will: All evidence to the contrary, but me too.
Rebecca: Right.
So if either of you had won one your challenges, who would you have chosen to go to elimination?
Will: Oh good God, I didn't like making those decisions when I had to. You're not gonna get an answer out of me.
Rebecca: I never wanted to think about that. I'm glad that I never had to, but I'd probably put Erin back in. No, I'm just kidding.
And Will, a lot of our BuddyTV readers wrote in on our site to say that they thought your apology to Erin was insincere, and you were just playing the game. So how do you respond to that?
Will: I went in intending to apologize. Part of that could be body language. Looking at myself, I didn't look very contrite, I suppose. The thing that bother me was the implication that I only went to talk to Erin after Jesse won. Because, really, that was the first chance I had had. And I didn't want this to be some slapdash thing in the middle of studying like crazy and preparing, I wanted it to mean something. And so you know, it's I suppose, it's just the way the game is. But the intent, my intent was sincere.
