Hey everyone this is Debbie at BuddyTV and I'm talking to Erin and Jesse from Beauty and the Geek. Hey guys!

Jesse: Hey.

Erin: Hi how are you?

Good. So my first question I have to ask Jesse. Did you keep your hair blond after you left?

Jesse: Right now my hair is still blond, currently.

Okay, cool. So you kept your look from after the makeover?

Jesse: Well it's a lot longer than it was. I've been getting a lot of advice from people so far on what I should do with it, you know?

So, what have you been doing?

Jesse: Well right now I've been letting it grow out so that when I go to a salon, they'll have more hair to work with.

Okay. Cool. Okay let's talk about the challenges. Looking back so far, which challenge do you think was the most difficult? Let's start with Erin.

Erin: Well, the most difficult challenge for me was probably the debate. We had a lot of information to study and we didn't know what topic we were going to get. That is just not my area. And the one that I got, about legalizing marijuana, I was like: ‘How do you argue with something like that?' Oh my god. So it was kind of funny actually.

Did you think about it afterwards? Like if someone asked you to debate that now, would you be prepared to?

Erin: I don't think I still would be prepared to. I'd be like: ‘I'm done. I'm out of here. I can't do this.'

How about you Jesse?

Jesse: The hardest challenge for me was definitely the rap challenge. Like, I'm not good at being up on stage. The only time I've been up in front of a bunch of people really was when I gave a speech at my high school graduation and I took like a month and a half preparing for that so I wouldn't get too nervous.

And that was the very first challenge you had to do, right?

Jesse: Yeah, that was the very first one. As soon as I got there it was like: ‘Wow. All these people. All these lights. I just forgot all my lyrics. I am in trouble.

Were you scared that the rest of the challenges would be that hard?

Jesse: I was pretty terrified about it. After the first one I was like: ‘Wow. I'm going to come out here and truly choke on everything. Oh man.'

Okay. And for this week, you had a pretty exciting one. You had to come up with superhero character. Erin, how did you come up with Aqualita Splash?

Erin: Aqualita Splash was based on my personality. I love the beach. I love palm trees. I love the ocean. I love California to. So, she just kind of like obviously splash, like splash water. And then aqua, like the sea's or the ocean ... like turquoise, the color. You know? The name just kind of came to me, and then all of her stuff ... the story with the dolphins. It's all just kind of my personality and stuff that I'm interested in. I think she's pretty cool.

Yeah. And Jesse, what did you think of her character?

Jesse: I thought that her character was awesome. Erin had never read comic books before, and the whole thing came together really good. I would come up from working on the costume and Erin would have like, almost the whole story done and when she read it to me I was like: ‘Wow. That's really good!'

Were there some parts of the story that were cut from the episode? Because, you know, they only had an hour? But were there some good parts to the story that you liked that they didn't show?

Erin: Um, well, Aqualita Splash she did have this evil nemesis: Viola Swamp. Basically she would take over people's brains and stuff and Aqualita would go and fight her with her magic sand and seaweed lasso. I think her surfboard powers are really cool. Her surfboard shield also turned into a surfboard rocket so she could fly on it. So it's really cool.

Cool. And Jesse, How do you think you did compared to the other geeks with the costume making part?

Jesse: Compared to the other geeks I thought that I was definitely one of the better costumes. There were some like ... Natalie's costume was really good too. I mean, I know compared to a real costume you would buy ... it was maybe not that great. But I spent a lot of time on it and came up with a lot of props to go with it like the surfboard shield, the bag of magic sand, the throwing starfish and stuff.

Yeah. I was really impressed with it.

Jesse: Thank you.

So, Sam and Nicole ended up winning that challenge. Do you think Sam had an unfair advantage being an actor?

Erin: Definitely.

Jesse: Yeah. I would say that one of the things that, you know ... he would have really good stage presence and he would have so much confidence coming from what he's done in the past. So definitely that's one of the things that those judges seem to focus on, or admire about him.

Erin, you were saying?

Erin: I do think it was unfair because he's an actor. He's used to be in front of cameras and doing crazy stuff, or whatever, on stage like being in character. And obviously the rest of us, we're not. And this was really a true challenge for us, and this was just, really unfair. Somebody else that could have been really good you know, they commented on Dave and Jasmine, didn't get that chance to win because, obviously there was an actor in the house.
