The creative minds behind The CW's
Beauty and the Geek have created yet another show that promises to bring forth a unique kind of entertainment that only executive producers
Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg could deliver. The new half-hour series is called
Game Show in My Head, a hidden camera game show that has now been picked up by the CBS network.
Beauty and the Geek's Kutcher and Goldberg, who are also credited for MTV's
Punk'd, have come up with a show concept in which contestants carry out embarrassing tasks in public in a bid to win a cash prize with the action all captured on hidden cameras. Furthermore, the contestants wear an earpiece as they go about life in the city and are instructed back in the studio to do some stunts. The contestant who can perform outrageous and often humiliating tasks in public goes home with big money, while the contestant who fails to perform the task loses the money and goes home empty-handed.
Game Show in My Head is hosted by Chris Kattan, who best known for his work on the sketch variety show,
Saturday Night Live, and is produced by Hat Trick Productions and Katalyst Films, Inc. with executive producers Jimmy Mulville, Leon Wilde and
Beauty and the Geek's Kutcher, Goldberg and Karey Burke. The series has yet to be given a broadcast slot by the network, but it is expected to air this summer.
Meanwhile,
Game Show in My Head is just one of many series CBS has ordered as the writers' strike cuts into the amount of scripted programming available to the networks. The network has also picked up
Secret Talents of the Stars, a biweekly contest where celebrities reveal their hidden talents, and the competitive reality show
America's Top Dog.
The new series were announced by Ghen Maynard, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming & Entertainment Content for New Media, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group.
