When he's not producing
Beauty and the Geek, or creating new shows like
Game Show in my Head, Ashton Kutcher is, of course, an actor, and, since his 2005 marriage to Demi Moore, a family man.
The new season of
Beauty and the Geek will premiere in a few weeks on March 11, and in the meantime, we checked in to see what's new with producer Kutcher.
As we've recently reported, Kutcher has a few upcoming film projects, including What Happens in Vegas, also starring Cameron Diaz, and
Personal Effects, also starring Michelle Pfieffer and Kathy Bates. It also been announced that he has another new project in the works. The film is still in its early pre-production stages, but we do know that it's called
Spread, and centers on a “serial womanizer and his jilter lover.” His co-star will be Jennifer Jason Leigh. The director is David MacKenzie and the writer is Jason Dean Hall.
On the personal front, the
Beauty and the Geek producer and his spouse just made the list of most influential Hollywood couples. The couple tied for the fourth spot with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. The list was topped by Brangelina – Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and coming in at number 11 were Victoria and David Beckham.
The young star also just had a milestone birthday. On Thursday, February 7, he turned 30. Wife Demi Moore threw a birthday bash in New York for her guy, and in the usually-unusual style of their blended family, her ex-husband Bruce Willis and his current flame showed up to join in the festivities. Other celebrities said to be in attendance at his birthday dinner and/or after-party included Lucy Liu, Salma Hayek, Kate Hudson, Madonna, Javier Bardem, and Parker Posey.
One witness at the after-party said, “"Ashton delivered a very heartfelt, emotional speech, thanking his wife for the party and everyone for coming. He said that anyone who had been thinking about giving a gift should pass it on to someone in need instead."
