We previously reported about
Tommy’s odd analogy of fishing and socializing, and now we’re back to talk about what thoughts went through his mind after completing his stint on
Beauty and the Geek. While some might think that he doesn’t fit into the typical geek stereotype, a second look would prove one wrong. Judging by his fishing and socializing, he really is someone quite intellectual and therefore might have some trouble connecting with academically challenged individuals.
Tommy admits that working with
Amanda was great. In fact, he says that she reached out to him most of the time, saying, “Sometimes I live in my own little world, and Amanda is much more of a down-to-earth, realistic person, so I think I needed someone like her to keep me grounded and bring out my best in every challenge.”
Surely, Amanda was able to bring out the best in him in their challenges. In fact, the two were able to win the whole thing in the last challenge, thus making them the winners of the season.
However, Amanda wasn’t the only beauty Tommy was able to connect with. He says that he found a friend in
Tara, but their friendship wouldn’t have taken them as far as he went with Amanda.
"I think I would’ve been happy with Tara, but we are too similar to have worked well together. Neither one of us is aggressive or assertive enough to have gotten anything done," Tommy told
Reality TV News. "We would’ve been best friends for sure, but best friends who went home the first night."
Tommy says that he walked away from the show with not just experiences, but with true friends as well. In fact, it made him quite emotional to see them leave every elimination night.
"Saying goodbye to your friends is really the absolute worst part. I tried to comfort myself with thoughts that I could see them all again after the show," Tommy says. "There’s no reason we can’t continue our friendships off-camera. I’m happy to say that for the most part, we all have."
Lastly, Tommy says that he is very thankful not only for his win, but also for meeting such real people in
Beauty and the Geek.
"I know I have made some lifelong friendships as a result of this experience, and I know a lot of my castmates feel the same way," he said. "These are wonderful, genuine people whom I never would have met without this once in a lifetime opportunity. I feel blessed to have shared it with each and every one of them."
