It's been two whole weeks since the last episode of
Beauty and the Geek. Sad! Thankfully, there is a new one tonight, and it promises to be a big one!
Two weeks ago on
Beauty and the Geek, David vowed to make a change. The beauties and geeks teamed up to create a superhero character for their first team challenge.
William and Jen had difficulty working together. Erin and Jesse were eliminated and
Natalie swore revenge on Sam and Nicole. There are only five teams left.

Tonight's episode of
Beauty the Geek begins immediately after the last elimination round. Sam is hoping for Erin and Jesse to walk through the door because he thinks that they are less of a threat than
John and Natalie. John and Natalie walk through the door instead, followed shortly by host
Mike Richards.
Dave might have a small man-crush on Mike because he's really excited at the prospect of hanging out some more with Mike. Mike gravely announces that everyone has to pack their bags...because they are all going to Mexico!
Sam is excited because "it's like going to a new club, but it's a country." William shows off his Spanish language skills.
Nicole and
Jasmine tell William that he was wrong in calling Jen fat. Jen can't stand him and thinks that he's intimidated by women who are stronger and stronger-willed. They are not speaking anymore.
Shay and Nicole try to play peacemaker, but William was too traumatized by high school jocks to try to apologize.
Down in Cancun, Mexico, the beauties and the geeks frolic at the beach. Dave is awfully pale.
Joshua wears a t-shirt and swim shorts in the water. Mike comes over to tell them about their challenges. The beauties' challenge has to do with the ancient Mayans. The geeks' challenge will be about spicing up a party.
The beauties, dressed in black with knee pads, go to an ancient Mayan pyramid. Sam is ridiculously confident. The challenge is like a game of memory. There is a translation key that has various symbols corresponding to numbers. Each beauty must unlock three boxes containing treasures by cracking the code written next to the box. The first beauty to open three boxes wins, except that they are not allowed to run around the Mayan ball court—they can only walk. Sam and Natalie are neck-and-neck in the challenge. Unfortunately for Natalie, Sam wins the challenge by a hair.
Now it's the geeks' turn. The geeks will be learning the sexy, sultry Latin dance salsa. Joshua is happy about this challenge because he might be able to use this skill when he goes home to real life.
That night, everyone goes down the beach to find all the fix-ins needed for a Mexican beach party. Dave licks too much salt after his tequila shot and gets a warm feeling in his throat. The party is the geeks' chance to learn how to dance from their partners, and Shay does his best to get him to loosen up. Dave, in order to impress Nicole, does a round-off back-handspring on the beach. He actually does it too! Everyone, including me, is so, so, so impressed with him. I think he's now my favorite geek. Jasmine kisses him on the lips, and he gets this adorably shocked look on his face. His last kiss was in October of 2003. Jasmine kisses him again. Yay, Dave! Even though these are essentially pity kisses, I'm happy for him. Also at the party, Natalie uses her feminine wiles to try to manipulate Sam, but Sam knows not to put his guard down with her.
The next day, all the teams practice the salsa. I'm surprised that all the beauties know how to salsa. Was it one of the requirements for being on the show? Or, is it just that beautiful people automatically know how to salsa? Jen and William don't practice, but instead discuss their problems. I think Jen makes an honest effort to reason with him, but he just walks away.
The geeks' challenge is to dance with gorgeous and scantily clad women, except for Nicole, whose partner is a dude in blue spandex with ginormous ruffles on the sleeves. I think he should have been one of the superheroes from two weeks ago. The geeks must come up with a three-minute salsa routines with their partners. Dave is now much more open to Jasmine's advice.
There are two renowned salsa dancers who serve as the judges, and the geeks perform one by one. Dave is pretty awesome. His mouth is in this permanent "ooh" expression and even rips his shirt open a little. Jen is not pleased with William's stiffness. She tells the camera that she just wants to be rid of her partner, and if that means having to go home this week, then so be it.
The judges determine that Joshua is in second place. But Dave is the winner! Yay, Dave!
The teams assemble on the patio outside surrounded by tiki torches for the elimination round. There will be no quiz this time. For the first time ever on
Beauty and the Geek history, the two winning teams must unanimously decide to send one team home. Sam, Nicole, Jasmine and Dave have 30 minutes to decide.
Everyone wants Joshua and Shay to stay, which means that it's between John and Natalie and William and Jen. Sam lobbies hard for booting John and Natalie, but Nicole makes a case to send William and Jen home.
Everyone reassembles to hear their verdict. Dave likes giving people bad news, so he offers to do the talking. He says that Shay and Joshua are safe. The other team that is safe is William and Jen, which means that John and Natalie have to go home. I am sad to see them go.
