Lucy Lawless as D'anna Biers

Lucy Lawless was born on March 29, 1968 in Mount Albert, New Zealand. She grew up with six siblings, and started acting while she was in secondary school. She spent one year at Auckland University, where she studied foreign languages, and subsequently headed to Europe with her then boyfriend, Garth Lawless. After traveling around Germany and Switzerland, she and Garth relocated to Australia, where Lawless found employment as a gold miner.

Lawless became pregnant with her first child at the age of nineteen, and in 1988, she and Garth tied the knot in Kalgoorlie, Australia. After the wedding, they returned to New Zealand, where Lawless eventually gave birth to daughter Daisy. They divorced in 1995, and three years later, Lawless tied the knot again, this time with Robert G. Tapert, producer of the hit adventure series, Xena, of which Lawless was the star. They have two children, both of who were born in Auckland, New Zealand.

Although she became widely popular with her performance on Xena, Lawless already appeared in several productions prior to her participation in the show. Her earlier acting credits include Funny Business, A Bitter Song, Shark in the Park, Within the Law, For the Love of Mike, The End of the Golden Weather Girl, The Rainbow Warrior, The Ray Bradbury Theater, Typhon's People, High Tide and The Black Stallion.

When Xena aired its final season in 2001, Lawless moved on to smaller roles in various television and film productions, which include Just Shoot Me!, The X-Files , Spider-Man, Tarzan, Euro Trip, Less Than Perfect, Veronica Mars , Two and Half Men, Locusts, Boogeyman, The Darkroom and Vampire Bats. She also had a recurring role on the hit television series, Battlestar Galactica, where she played D'Anna Biers for two seasons.

Apart from acting, Lawless has also established herself in the music industry. She debuted at the Roxy in Hollywood in 2007, and has come out with her first album, Come 2 Me. She also participated in the reality series, Celebrity Duets , where she finished in second place, losing to Alfonso Ribeiro .

Currently, in 2008 she is living in USA she is married to Robert Tapert with 3 children.She does alot of animated voice-overs for movies and Tv shows.Lucy dressed up as Rosie O'Donnel to suprise Renee O'Conner (Gabrielle,On Xena) at one of the Xena Conventions. Among all of her talents she was also an Opera singer for awhile. Also did some ballet as well. She also admited to taking slippers and robes whenever she stays at fancy hotels.During an interview on Regis & Kelly.She did almost all of her stunts while working on Xena. She also cracked her collar bone during a stunt she did on The Tonight show while riding a horse. She is very shy during interviews and usually likes to act as a certain character or dress up for her Xena Conventions to make herself feel more at ease. She is working on a new Adam Sandler movie due out this Fall of 2008. She is also returning to BSG on the Sci-Fi Channel for the 4th and Final Season. She comes back on Friday June 6th 9th Episode of the show for those fans wanting to mark their calendars..its only a month away...=)

I have to rush back to Los Angeles to be with Marissa, who is down to the final 5 in DWTS. She was in the bottom two last week. See what happens when I leave town?! Usually I am there making rude gestures across the dance floor, like I'm pulling a noose tight, just to stop her taking it all too seriously. Still, I want her to get through another week. Please don't forget to vote!

Okay, so here I am in London where they are worrying about the election results, petrol tax and the dramatic upswing in the number of women arrested for drunkeness. But don't worry, I should be out in time for soundcheck Saturday.

My chaps arrived from Los Angeles as promised. They are as nasty as all get-out and I am ashamed of myself. The band members are all on the case and seem prepared to have fun. Annie is going to wear her big black boots and long brown hair, just like the chick from the Jets, "BE MY GIRL.” And we're going to break out some Garbage too. It's going to be the sweatiest show ever.
