Tricia Helfer as Number Six
Number Six is played by Tricia Helfer in the hit sci-fi series,
Battlestar Galactica. Number Six, a humanoid Cylon, has been known to use her seductive beauty to her advantage. Her intelligence has spared her from falling victim to Dr. Gaius Baltar’s lies, and being a cylon, she has assumed several physical bodies, with each body serving a specific purpose in the Cylon society.
The first Six copy was actually involved with Baltar, but she only engaged in a relationship with the doctor because she needed to gain information regarding the Colonial Defense Systems. Upon reaching success, she revealed her true identity to Baltar, and subsequently used the information to help her fellow Cylons break down the defense system and annihilate most of humankind. However, during the course of the attack, Six shielded Baltar with her body, and thus lost her life. Later, Six returned as a downloaded copy named Caprica-Six, and was considered a hero by the Cylon community because she successfully carried out her mission to infiltrate the defense system. Being sentimental, Caprica-Six began to express regret over her actions, and was constantly plagued with visions of Baltar. Later, she and Sharon “Boomer” Valerii went against their superiors’ orders and came to the aid of a human being, with Caprica-Six killing a fellow Cylon in the process.
Because of their desire to look for other humans, Caprica-Six and Sharon found their way to New Caprica. This was where Caprica-Six was reunited with the real Baltar, and met another death at the hands of Cylon Aaron Doral. When she was reborn, she helped Baltar escape to the Basestar, and subsequently became involved with both Baltar and Number Three.
The other manifestations of Number Six include Inner Six, a copy who lives inside the head of Baltar and who claims to be a messenger of God. Inner Six often appears to Baltar with no warning and has acted as his guide and protector. Another copy, Shelley Godfrey, once tried to seduce Commander Adama, while the copy named Gina became Baltar’s love interest (despite his relations with Inner Six in his head).
