Kandyse McClure as Anastasia Dualla

Lieutenant Anastacia “Dee” Dualla is played by Kandyse McClure on the television series, Battlestar Galactica. Anastasia is originally from the Sagittaron colony, and she signed up to become a part of the Colonial Fleet, despite her father’s disapproval. Her decision to join the fleet caused tension between her and her father, and they were not able to settle their issues before the Cylons attacked the Twelve Colonies. Before she was a 2nd Class Petty Officer, Anastacia was working for the CIC as a communications NCO. She had been romantically involved with President Roslin’s aide Billy Keikya, but their relationship suddenly ended when Billy was killed during an attack. After her involvement with Billy, her affections were eventually transferred to Lee “Apollo” Adama, son of Commander William Adama.

Upon the discovery of New Caprica, Anastasia, who has been known for her tough personality and pragmatism, underwent a number of crucial experiences that would greatly affect both her professional and personal life. Shortly after the fleet came upon New Caprica, Anastasia was promoted to Lieutenant, and on the day of the ground-breaking ceremony, her transfer to Battlestar Pegasus was approved. She eventually tied the knot with Lee, who was also her new commanding officer aboard Pegasus. At the time of the Cylon invasion, Anastasia was the ship’s executive officer. When Pegasus was destroyed above New Caprica, Anastasia returned to Galactica, where she began working in the Combat Information Center (CIC).

Her marriage to Lee was going well until the reappearance of Kara “Starbuck” Thrace, and the history between Lee and Kara stirred some tension between Anastasia and Kara. After Lee and Kara reconciled following the Galactica boxing match, Anastasia clearly expressed sadness over the reconciliation. Despite having been reassured by Lee, Anastasia eventually left him after Dr. Gaius Baltar’s trial, wherein Lee questioned President Roslin.
