In a move that is sure to excite hordes of fans,
Battlestar Galactica is switching time slots, moving from Friday nights to Sundays at 10PM ET/PT starting on January 21st. I never understood why the Sci-Fi channel would air its signature program on the normally dead TV day of Friday, so this feels like a switch long in the making.
Now, with
Battlestar Galactica on Sundays, maybe NBC/Universal can get a good read on how well it performs against real competition.
I know cable shows don't really compete with network shows, but there has been much fan speculation that NBC was considering taking
Battlestar off of the Sci-Fi channel and moving it to NBC in prime time. This move has not come to fruition as of yet, with NBC/Universal airing on the side of extreme caution. My question is, with NBC struggling with their ratings, why would it hurt to give
Battlestar Galactica a prime time shot?
New episodes of
Battlestar Galactica begin airing in their new time slot on Sunday, January 21st at 10PM ET/PT. If you'd like to catch up on
The Story So Far, it's available for free on iTunes.
