After Corinne Olympios broke her silence over the scandal surrounding the fourth season of Bachelor in Paradise
, DeMario Jackson has also issued a statement. The ousted Bachelorette
season 13 contestant previously opted not to comment when asked about what went down in Mexico though he did speak of Olympios
, whom he called an "awesome girl." Now he's seeking legal action.
"It's unfortunate that my character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations," the 30-year-old said in a statement to People
. "I will be taking swift and appropriate legal action until my name is cleared and, per the advice of legal counsel, will be seeking all available remedies entitled to me under the laws."
Production for the fourth season of Bachelor in Paradise was halted following an incident of sexual misconduct reportedly took place on the set. Warner Bros. and host Chris Harrison have already released a statement regarding the suspension of filming though other details have been left out including the names of the people involved. However, multiple sources have already leaked that Jackson and Olympios are the two contestants in question. Both notorious "villains" allegedly got drunk and got hot and heavy by the pool, prompting a third party to file a complaint against production for misconduct over the incident she witnessed between Jackson and Olympios. There are also reports suggesting that Olympios blacked out during the hook up and doesn't remember anything, prompting the former Bachelor contestant to lawyer up.
According to TMZ
, Jackson is determined to get the footage of the incident, believing that the video will prove that Olympios was lucid and he did nothing wrong.
"Multiple people who've seen the footage tell us... the encounter appears completely consensual and DeMario is in no way the aggressor. In fact, we're told he and Corinne seemed kind and considerate to each other. Our sources say DeMario's looking to lawyer up because although Corinne hasn't blamed him yet, he's not taking any chances," the site said.
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
