
As reported previously, Nickelodeon will be launching an array of special features in support of the much awaited television
Avatar: The Last Airbender episode “Day of the Black Sun,” which is an hour-long movie that features
Aang and the rest of the gang as they launch a massive attack on the Fire Nation during the solar eclipse. These includes a bunch of new games, events and downloadable items, which can all be accessed through the network's website.
But now that
Avatar has culminated its epic third season last Friday, fans can divert their attention to the latest Avatar game released by the network.
Avatar: Black Sun Siege, Nickelodeon's new Game of the Week, enables players to control squadrons of Earth and Water Nation soldiers. With the option to choose a favorite
Avatar character, players can experience the action as they battle against the fierce Fire Nation.
Described as a strategic battle game,
Avatar: Black Sun Siege features various missions that allow players to plan tactical moves as several choices are presented. It also includes specific descriptions and instructions that will guide players for each step of the game.
Since its launch,
Avatar has developed a keen fan base that encompasses a wide range of audience. Fans have also been responsive on the network's website, especially with its message boards, where supporters discuss their opinions about the animated series.
Avatar games are also among the most popular on the site, earning a total of 70 million game plays year to date, which is 15 percent higher compared to last year. In addition, the
Avatar show page has generated 12 million visits, ranking within the top five properties of the network.
