Biography

American actor Scott Bryce was born on January 6, 1958 in New York City. Early on, he followed the footsteps of his father, the late Guiding Light star Ed Bryce. While growing up in Westport, Connecticut, he was an active member of the student theater group at Staples High School, which he attended. He appeared in several Broadway productions in the late 1970s.

His television debut came in 1982, when he joined the cast of the daytime soap As the World Turns. He originated the role of Craig Montgomery, the former CEO of their family business. Throughout his run, his character was involved in multiple marriages, and far more romances. Bryce played the role in on-off periods, first leaving in 1987, and then taking a prolonged break in 1994 before being re-hired in 2007. Eventually, he was released from the role the following year. Nevertheless he left with two Daytime Emmy nominations, in 1986 and 1987.

Throughout his stint with the long-running daytime soap, he’s made numerous appearances on prime time programs. He has guest roles in shows such as Murphy Brown, Diagnosis Murder, L.A. Law, Spin City, Sex and the City, Popular and Law & Order. He also appeared in a few episodes of another daytime soap, One Life to Live. He made his film debut in 1992, playing a minor role in Lethal Weapon 3, and moving on to appear in other features such as Up Close & Personal, The Pack and TV-Dad.
