Mary Martha Byrne was born on December 23, 1969 in Ridgewood, New Jersey. She started acting at a very young age and was cast for the role of July in the Broadway musical Annie. She was also featured in a handful of television programs like Kate, Murder, She Wrote, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Jake and the Fatman, and Hearts are Wild. Her feature films include When the Cradle Falls, Pink Lightning and Anna to the Infinite Power in which she played the title role. However, Byrne is still perhaps best known for her role on the soap opera As the World Turns where she plays Lily Walsh Snyder. She is also a singer who had released her self-titled album in 1996. She has won the Outstanding Younger Actress and Outstanding Lead Actress Daytime Emmy Award in 1981 and 2001 respectively.
Lily Walsh Snyder is played by Martha Byrne in the soap opera As the World Turns. Lily was born to Josh Stricklyn and Iva Snyder Benedict and was adopted by Martin Guest and Lucinda Walsh. Later on the couple separated and she had two other stepfathers named Jason Benedict and James Walsh. She has four siblings and has been married five times. She has four children, three of which are from Holden Snyder, one of her former husbands.
