Soap veteran Jon Lindstorm, who is best known for portraying Kevin Collins on both General Hospital and its spin-off series Port Charles, is set to return to daytime TV.  This time, however, he'll be heading to the town of Oakdale as he joins the cast of As the World Turns.

Lindstorm first played the resident psychiatrist on General Hospital in 1994 until 1997 before appearing on the spin-off Port Charles from June 19997 until 2003.  During his portrayal of Kevin, he was involve in several controversial storylines, including the abduction of Ian Thornhart, whom he tried to bury behind a brick wall, the stalking and kidnapping of Felicia Jones after suffering a nervous breakdown, and the strangling of Lucy Coe, just to name a few.

In As the World Turns, Lindstrom will stir up some drama as Craig Montgomery, the arch-villain who fled Oakdale earlier this year after attempting murder and blowing up Paul Ryan's car.  The character, who is the only son of Bart Montgomery and Lyla Crawford, last appeared on February 21 but is expected to return on December 3.

"Jon is a witty and immensely likable actor even when he's doing unspeakable things – as he did on General Hospital," As the World Turns head writer Jean Passanante told TV Guide.  "And that pretty much sums up Craig."

Moreover, Craig will return to Oakdale "with a deep desire to reconnect with his family, though his first order of business is to get himself off the hook for trying to kill Paul [Roger Howarth].  It's a big problem, but Craig is up for the challenge."

Lindstrom is the fourth actor to fill in the often-recast role.  Craig was originated by Scott Bryce in January 1982.  When Bryce was dismissed, Hunt Block took over the role in 2005, followed by Jeffrey Meek from September 2006 to April 2007.
