As the World Turns: Austin Peck Talks About His Love Scene
Thursday, January 10, 2008

as the world turnsLast month, soap fans witnessed Brad Peck and Katie Peretti make love in attempt to fulfill Katie's wishes of having a baby on As the World Turns.  While Brad and Katie's intentions differ from one another, their portrayers in real life share the same sentiments when it comes to filming their characters love scenes.

According to Austin Peck, who has been portraying Brad since January 19, 2007, going under the sheets the first time with Terri Colombino, who has been playing Katie since 1998, is just simply funny.

"I really had a good time," Peck told Soap Opera Digest of Brad and Katie's first sexual encounter. "That was a very fun day."

Peck also reveals that he was a little wary about showing off his body since he hasn't been working out lately.  On the other hand, he contends that his character Brad has no such qualms.

"I love playing Brad because part of his appeal is that he is so willing to let things hang out," he said.  "He's very aware of his sexuality, of his looks.  He's totally willing to bare it all — and very aware that he is baring it all."

Putting modesty aside, Peck believes that's a nice change.

"On a lot of other shows, or with a lot of other characters, they'll play the scenes where the guy is not aware of [his physique]," the As the World Turns actor said.  "The hero is not aware of how awesome he is.  That, to me, is clichéd and boring beyond measure.  With Brad, it's fun because he's a ham."

Nowadays, Brad tries to convince himself that Katie is with him because she really wants to be with him, despite knowing inside that it's all because of her wish for children.  When Katie kicked him out after he refused to make love to her, he rehearsed on telling Katie that he loves her, but ironically, couldn't seem to bring himself to do it.  Stay tuned on As the World Turns to find out more about Brad and Katie's drama.
