[Video] 'Arrow' at Comic-Con: Watch the New Season 3 Trailer
Saturday, July 26, 2014
shot into Comic-Con Friday with new footage from the show's upcoming
third season and more details about romances and crossovers with The
The panel featured stars Stephen Amell, Willa Holland,
Colton Haynes, Paul Blackthorne, David Ramsey, John Barrowman and the
show's executive producers. Sadly there was no Emily Bett Rickards
(Felicity), but she's filming.
The new trailer for season 4 featured a recap of last season, followed by plenty of action to come. The Canary is back, Oliver and Diggle get into a fight, Roy Palmer (Brandon Routh) shows up to take over Queen Industries, Oliver and Felicity go on their date (when he tells her about how he wasn't always on the island) and Felicity is bloody in the Arrow lair (but the producers promise it's not serious).
UPDATE: One day after the panel they released a second trailer with a new ending, this one teasing the arrival of Ra's al Ghul. The leader of the League of Assassins (an organization that trained both Malcolm Merlyn and Sara Lance) has been mentioned several times throughout season 2, and now Arrow has confirmed that casting is underway and the famous villain will be the Big Bad of season 3.
It was also revealed that Ted Grant, aka Wildcat, will also be a part of season 3, and will interact with Laurel. In the comics, Grant is a boxing instructor who trained Black Canary as well as Batman.
Here are some other highlights from the panel:
-Felicity will crossover with The Flash in episode 4, and episode 8 will also feature a crossover between the two shows.
An early episode titled "Oracle" will feature flashbacks to Felicity's time at MIT.
-Colin Donnell (Tommy Merlyn) will return in the second episode in a flashback with Oliver.
-Holland has been hitting the gym, so expect a more bad-ass Thea and not the party girl of the first two seasons.
-The show will go back to the moment Thea got into the limo with her evil dad, Malcolm Merlyn, to reveal what was said.
-The bombshell that Diggle is going to be a father will raise the stakes and make him decide whether to stick with Oliver.
Arrow returns for season 3 on Wednesday, October 8 at 8pm on the CW.
