If you're a fan of Felicity Smoak on Arrow
(and let's face it, how can you not be?), there is a lot to look forward to in season 3 already, just based on what has come out of San Diego Comic-Con over the past week, but now there's more. TV Guide
has reported that the series has cast Felicity's mother for at least one episode to air in the fall.
Charlotte Ross, whose TV credits include NYPD Blue
, Days of Our Lives
, will be appearing in at least one episode slated to air in early November as Felicity's mother, but that's all the casting news reveals. All other details, including her name, are being kept secret. It hasn't even been revealed if she's going to be in a flashback or show up in Starling City in the present.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
Considering it's been announced that there will be Felicity-centric flashbacks to her past and her time at MIT in episode 5 of season 3, titled "Oracle," it is possible that could be when they'll bring in Ross as her mother. The timing would fit, after all, with the premiere airing October 8, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she'll be in - or just in - the episode's flashbacks. Whenever in the timeline of Arrow
Felicity's mother appears, it has to be telling that they're keeping her name a secret, right?Casting Bits: Claire Holt to Star on Aquarius, Arrow Gets Its Wildcat and More>>>
Felicity has kept pretty quiet about her mother in the first two seasons of Arrow
. She even notes to Oliver in the season 2 episode, "Heir to the Demon," that she doesn't talk about her family, but only says, "My mother is... she's my mother." Then, later in the season in "City of Blood," she says, "If I had accepted things, I would be a cocktail waitress in Vegas like my mother and I never would have gone to college and I never would have moved a thousand miles away to work at Queen Consolidated."
