We have good news for fans of both Arrow and Teen Wolf. Colton Haynes, who formerly played Jackson on MTV's Teen Wolf, has been cast in a recurring role on the CW action series.
And it's a big, important role. Keep reading to find out who Haynes will play.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
According to a report from TVGuide.com
, Colton Haynes has been cast in the role of Roy Harper. If you don't read the comics and therefore do not grasp the significance of this name, Harper has had many other identities throughout the years, including:
- The Green Arrow's sidekick, Speedy (also the nickname of Thea Queen in the CW's Arrow)
- Teen Titans member Arsenal
- A drug-addicted, one-armed villain named the Red Arrow
Will Haynes' version of Roy Harper be any of these? It's hard to say. The CW only describes the character as being "a handsome, street-savvy teenager from the Glades." Harper will also serve as a love interest for young Thea. He will be "destined to become a significant part of her life and an important player in the larger world of Arrow
executive producer Greg Berlanti expressed the show's excitement at getting Haynes for the part, which is expected to recur throughout the second part of season 1. "We were big fans of Colton from Teen Wolf
and we are thrilled he's joining Arrow
," he told TVGuide.com
This is a quick switch for Colton Haynes. The news that the actor would not return for Teen Wolf
's third season in 2013 came as a surprise to both fans and, apparently, the show itself. Although no one ever gave too many specifics on the situation, rumors indicated that contract negotiations between Haynes and Teen Wolf
were the cause of the departure.
Whatever the case, it does seem that the actor has landed on his feet. And his hotness will definitely
fit in on Arrow
