Michael Cera was known for his role as George Michael Bluth on the television series
Arrested Development. As the son of Michael Bluth, he appeared to share some of his father’s positive qualities. More often than not, he felt pressured to live up to his father’s expectations, halfheartedly willing to obey his plans even if they are in conflict with his own beliefs. Apart from his relationship with his father, another thing that was apparent in his character plot was his sexual tension with his cousin Maeby.
Following
Arrested Development, Cera guest starred in an episode of
Veronica Mars entitled
The Rapes of Graff as the character Dean. He also provided the voice of Scorth on
Tom Goes to the Mayor. He was cast in the movie
Parental Guidance Suggested and recently appeared on
Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! as Jamie Stevens.
At present, Cera has two film projects lined up. On August 17, 2007, his movie entitled
Superbad will be released. In the comedy, he plays Evan, one of the lead characters in the plot about high school seniors forced to deal with separation anxiety after their plan to create a booze-soaked party backfires. Subsequently, he stars in the film
Juno, a comedy drama directed by Jason Reitman and written by Diablo Cody. The said movie is about the story of an odd young woman who makes an unusual decision regarding her unborn child. He stars as Paulie Bleeker, along with his former onscreen dad Jason Bateman as Mark Loring. Other cast members include Ellen Page as Juno MacGuff, Jennifer Garner as Vanessa Loring, Allison Janney, Rainn Wilson as Rollo and Oliver Thirlby as Leah.
