Former Arrested Development co-stars Jason Bateman and Will Arnett have started a new production company called dumbdumb, which provides "branded content" for companies through funny viral videos. Their first video, one of three shorts for Orbitz gum, is out today. It's called "Prom Date," and it co-stars Parks and Recreation actress Aubrey Plaza, as well as The Hangover star Rachel Harris.

Watch the video--even if it doesn't make you want to buy gum, it will probably make you laugh:

If everyone and everything on TV is just trying to sell you something, anyway, then at least these guys know how to make it entertaining! Although I am a little confused about the "dirty situation" lesson from Orbitz here: if I chew their gum, will I suddenly be able to turn a blind eye to all the terrible, disturbing choices that the people in my life make? If so, this gum should sell itself!

What do you think of dumbdumb's ad-comedy content? Is this the future of commercials--or the degradation of comedy?
