Jessica Walter is an Emmy Award-winning American actress born on January 31, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Manhattan’s School of Performing Arts, she studied for a time alongside fellow actors Christopher Lloyd and James Caan at NYC’s Neighborhood Playhouse before moving on to numerous television shows. Jessica Walter appeared in series such as Flipper, Mission: Impossible, Trapper John, M.D., The Love Boat, Babylon 5, and Just Shoot Me! She won the Emmy Award for Best Dramatic Actress for her role in the 70s series Amy Prentiss. Aside from acting, she’s also a practitioner of aerobics and yoga.
Lucille Bluth is played by Jessica Walter in the comedy series Arrested Development. The wife of George Sr., she’s a classic example of a terrible mother in that she shows little concern for her children’s well-being or development. She ridicules Lindsay, doesn’t care at all about G.O.B., and stunts Buster’s emotional growth by constantly babying and coddling him. She also regularly argues and exchanges insults with Michael, making his job of running the company much harder. Lucille enjoys being in control as the family matriarch, often manipulating others to get her way. She’s also arrogant, acts superior to others, and is fond of wasting money on material things.
