Army Wives is about to conclude its sophomore season, following 19 episodes that will come to a close next week. And as part of the finale, the military drama has enlisted Ivan Sergei to join the cast.

Ivan Sergei made his big screen debut when he starred in John Woo's 1996 film Once a Thief, and then returned along with the rest of the cast for the 1997 television series, which only lasted one season.  Subsequently, he starred opposite Amanda Peet in Jack & Jill, which ran from 1999 to 2001.  He then joined the cast of Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central) as David Weiss before landing the role of Dr. Peter Winslow on Crossing Jordan from 2003 to 2004.

Sergei found steady work on TV for several years.  After starring in Hawaii as Danny Edwards, he recurrently appeared as Henry Mitchell on the series Charmed.  Eventually, he ventured into the big screen with roles in The Break-Up and KomA.  Most recently, he was cast as Greg Donner in an episode of CSI: Miami and in the upcoming TV miniseries Jack Hunter and the Lost Treasure of Ugarit as the lead character.

According to TV Guide, the 36-year-old actor will be playing Betty's long lost nephew who won't arrive with his heart set on a family reunion.  In fact, he will “immediately make waves with Roxy [Sally Pressman].”

No other details have been revealed about Sergei guest stint on Army Wives so fans will have to stay tuned to find out.

Meanwhile, fans will be pleased to know that Army Wives will soon march into its third season.  Cast members have already been recruited to reprise their roles for the new season and now that production for the second season has already finished, Lifetime is set to resume filming for season 3.
