Brian McNamara, who plays Brigadier General Michael Holden on Lifetime's
Army Wives, will be featured in a horror-thriller movie next year. However, the 46-year-old New York native will not just working as an actor; he is also running operations behind the cameras as well.
In the movie
Lost Signal, McNamara will be showcasing his directorial skills while working with writers, Robert Egan and Graham Silver. Onscreen, he'll be taking on the role of Carl Nasland in a thriller story based on true events.
Starring Al Santos (Kevin Healy) and Sandra McCoy (Tiffany Matthews), the film centers on the couple as they head out to celebrate the New Year and a fresh start in their seven-year relationship. But when they decided to mark the occasion by experimenting with crystal meth, they become engulfed in a series of delusional events that eventually leads them into the woods. Alone in the middle of the woods where the phone signal is lost, they soon turn on each other while everything falls apart on the verge of being rescued.
Although the upcoming movie marks his major directorial venture, this isn't McNamara's first time to work off screen. He has already served as second unit director in the 2002 movie
You Got Nothin' where he also played the role of Willy, and as a coordinating producer for VH1's
Behind the Music.
In addition to his most recent exposure on
Army Wives, he is also popularly known for his portrayal of Dean Karny in the TV movie
Billionaire Boys Club where he earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a supporting role. His other credits include
Arachnophobia, Pig Sty, and
Homefront.
Aside from
Lost Signal, also expected to come out next year is the second season of
Army Wives, which is set to air in the spring of 2008.
