Army WivesWith the commendable finale of Army Wives season 2 recently being aired, the Lifetime drama series dominated the ratings.  In 2007, it broke records as the network's largest premiere in 23 years, and it persists in doing so.  Even though the show has left temporarily to work on its third season, it will surely be missed.

Army Wives wrapped up its latest term last November 2, garnering a 3.1 household rating for its finale.  According to Nielsen Media Research data, it managed to pull in around 3.9 million total viewers just that night.

The show was cable's top drama among women 18 to 49, and counted 1.6 million of those watchers during the season 2 concluder.  Furthermore, the series gained another 1.6 million women watchers in the 25 to 54 category.

Army Wives has definitely been on the right track.  It has been maintaining its solid performance all season, since it averaged another 3.1 rating and 3.8 million viewers for the year.  Since its premiere in December 2007, it already snagged the largest viewership in the 10pm to 11pm time slot.

Based on the non-fiction book “Under the Sabers: The Unwritten Code of Army Wives,” the series closed off its second season with the episode “Last Minute Changes.”  The Holdens underwent some immense transformations in their lives, as others begin to question their relationships with one another.  Marriages were doubted, relatives came unexpected, and good friends were detached from their mortal coils.

There hasn't been any confirmation regarding the third season of the series, and no dates have been released.  Fans only hope that Army Wives would be returning to the small screen soon.  Meanwhile, devotees of the show can bide their time by voting for their favorite season 2 episode on the official website of Army Wives.  Several activities have been lined up to build more anticipation for the series return, much to the delight of fans.
