Lifetime's highest-rated series ever returns this Sunday 10pm for its third season, with the Army Wives banding together to support Claudia Joy (Kim Delaney) when her daughter Emmalin (Katelyn Pippy) disappears just before the family moves overseas.  As she prepares to transfer he real life elsewhere for her husband's (Brian McNamara) new job, Claudia Joy is struggling to remain strong for the sake of those around her.

Elsewhere, Roxy (Sally Pressman) is forced to reevaluate his business and the way it's been taking its toll on her emotionally.  Meanwhile, Pamela (Brigid Brannagh) is also struggling to be both mother and father to her kids as her husband is often away on assignment.  Finally, new father Roland (Sterling K. Brown) tries to come to terms with the news of Joan's (Wendy Davis) deployment, and Denise (Catherine Bell) starts to realize the consequences of her actions when her affair becomes the talk of the post.  All these, of course, demonstrate the "unique challenges" of how it is to be Army Wives.

For Army Wives' third season, Tony Award-winning actress Kelly Bishop will drop by Army Wives, where she'll play the wife of a late, great state senator who comes to town to attend a building-naming ceremony.

Army Wives' sophomore run, which wrapped up with the Holdens dealing with big changes, while Pamela wondered about her decision to marry into the army, became the most-watched original drama on ad-supported cable, Lifetime's bes tin its 25-year history.  It was seen by more than 80 million viewers all in all.  Second season's finale was the network's highest-rated and most-watched original drama telecast ever in the crucial 18 to 34 demo.  This early, it has already been picked up for a fourth season.
