Episode Highlights:
- Michelle comes out to her family and castmates that he might be bi-sexual
- The girls participate in an interviewing challenge with Janice Dickinson
- The girls pull double duty as famous celebrity couples in their latest photo shoot
Recap:
Following elimination
CariDee English serenades the girls with a folk ditty on her acoustic guitar while
Jaeda Young reflects on being in the bottom two again and A.J. laments the loss of her BFF
Megg.
The group’s attention soon turns to the differences(?) between the twins Michelle and Amanda. The general consensus in the
Top Model house is that Michelle is more outgoing while Amanda’s a bit more reserved. Michelle then drops a bombshell by admitting to Jaeda that she might be gay. Hallelujah, finally something to tell them apart!
Tyra-Mail tells the girls there’s no such thing as a stupid question (just stupid models, haha, I kill me) and they head off to a television studio to meet with Entertainment Tonight co-host Mark Steines who offers them each pointers on how to conduct a good interview. One-by-one each girl participates in a mock interview with Steines, and one-by-one they each kind of suck. A.J. can’t get past her stage fright, Brooke’s questions sound too prepared and Jaeda, um, wait hold up, I’m not sure…wait, let me think, um, what were we talking about again? The only girl who feels comfortable with the interviewing is Melrose who’s a natural on the mic.
Tyra-Mail tells the girls to beware of supermodels and they meet Mark Steines at a red carpet event who informs them that tonight they’ll be taking over his job by interviewing Janice Dickinson. Hold up, the Janice Dickinson, world’s first supermodel Janice Dickinson, scourge of the runway and devourer of
America's Next Top Model contestants Janice Dickinson? Man, I hope they have a med-a-vac team standing by. The girls take their places on the red carpet and, as expected, it’s a disaster. Honestly I can’t believe Janice didn’t take a swing at one of them (which I would have been fine with) although she did steal Jaeda’s mic, which was the kindest thing she could have done for the rest of us. Again, the only contestant to stand toe-to-toe with Ms. Dickinson is Melrose who wins the challenge and is told she’ll be working as an Entertainment Tonight correspondent at an upcoming event.
Show creator Tyra Banks makes an unexpected visit to the house and sits down with the girls one-on-one to discuss their insecurities. A.J. reveals her dislike of Melrose, who Tyra advises to not be afraid to let others in. Michelle says she’s improved a lot as a model since the start of the show and Tyra asks if she feels guilty about outperforming her sister and Michelle questions why Amanda hasn’t been her usual, outgoing self since arriving in the
Top Model house. During her sit down Amanda confesses that she’s a very private person and is concerned about her sister’s choice to reveal her bi-sexuality on national TV. Amanda just gained a hundred points in my book. Later, the twins call their parents and Michelle comes out to her mom about her bi-sexuality. Mother Babin says she hopes Michelle is doing well and that she’ll love her no matter what. Mother Babin is awesome.
At the photo shoot Jay Manuel tells the girls today they will be pulling double duty as both halves of celebrity couples. For example, Jaeda will be Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, Melrose will be Donald and Melania Trump,
Eugena Washington will be Jay-Z and Beyonce (what’s up with putting Eugena in a blonde wig every week?) and so on. As the shoot continues the pictures vary from inspired to just plain bizarre. Michelle as Ellen Degeneres? Dead-On. A.J. as Jennifer Lopez? Awkward.
Brooke Miller as K-Fed? I still have nightmares. Special, ahem, “props” also go out to Brooke and CariDee, one for modeling with an eight-foot yellow python, and the other with something just as terrifying, two screaming little kids.

The girls meet with the judges for one last challenge. They’re each asked to provide commentary from video of a recent
America's Next Top Model wrap party. Melrose, Brooke, and CariDee all seem to have improved their mic skills, but Jaeda,
Anchal Joseph, and A.J. still can’t find their voices. During evaluations Jaeda shocks everyone by nailing Bobby Brown, Melrose is hilarious as Donald Trump, and Brooke impresses with her sexy Britney Spears, not to mention her rapping skills (don’t ask). However the panel raises questions about the commitment Jaeda and A.J. have towards the competition.
The girls return and Tyra starts handing out photos. First is Brooke, then Melrose, Amanda, Caridee, Michelle, Eugena, and Anchal, leaving Jaeda and A.J. in the bottom two. Tyra says that this competition is as much about passion as skill and she wonders whether they both have it. Until today, Jaeda’s photos haven’t been very strong and A.J. doesn’t seem willing to break out of her trendy, hipster mold. She hands the last photo to Jaeda and tells her that she saw passion in half of her photo, which is enough to keep her in the competition.
