Susan Eileen Schulz was born October 5, 1971 in Westchester County, New York. She graduated from Loyola College located in Baltimore, Maryland.
Susan Schulz 's love for the field of journalism has been the center of her life all throughout the years. Her articles were published in YM, Redbook and Shape. Eventually, she became an assistant editor for Good Housekeeping magazine. In YM, she was a senior articles editor and took charge of assigning and editing real-life stories, psychology features and relationship pieces.
In 2000, she moved to CosmoGIRL! magazine and started out as a deputy editor. She eventually became executive director before being promoted to the editor-in-chief position in 2003. CosmoGIRL! caters to teenagers and guides them in fashion, relationships and future career dreams.
Her biggest regret when starting out in the industry was not enjoying New York City more. She was scared about being broke and didn't go out as much as she should have. She is unhappy about the fact that she didn't look for cheap ways to have fun, thinking that she could only have fun if she had lots of money to spend. Looking back, Susan said she should have been creative and resourceful. Now that she has risen up the ladder in the business, she has money but not enough time to go around the city.
Susan Schulz is a prom committee member on ABC Family's reality show
America's Prom Queen , where 10 high school girls live together in a mansion and compete against each other in a series of challenges that will test their “prom queen mettle.” The contestants face weekly elimination rounds and attend a featured prom at the end of the show. She says that being on a reality show is quite an experience because it was the first time she was filmed 24/7.
