After five seasons on air and two Daytime Emmy awards under her belt, Tyra Banks is once again following in Oprah's footsteps, and closing up shop on her daytime talk show.
"This will be the last season of
The Tyra Show," Banks tells
People. "I've been loving having fun, coming into your
living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past 5 years."
The Tyra Show will wrap filming Season 5 this spring, and then close its doors for good.
Banks will then focus on her next goal: launching Bankable Studios, a film
production company which she plans to use to bring "positive images of women to the big
screen," an 'industry insider' tells
People.
"My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls
to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are," Banks says, keeping in tune with her other latest launch: her global BIO (Beauty Inside and Out) campaign, which aims to "expand the definition of beauty" for women around the world.
"With Oprah's big announcement this year, I think that gave Tyra the
confidence to get out there and follow her longtime dream of film
producing,"
People's source went on, who also claims that Oprah and filmmaker Tyler Perry encouraged Banks to pursue her big-screen dreams.
But fret not,
ANTM fans.
America's Next Top Model will return for its 14th cycle this February, along with Banks's ABC show
True Beauty. So there will be plenty of Tyra to go around while we anxiously await any upcoming film projects.
