Aminat is the first to face the judges critique. Nigel says he doesn't
think that Aminat's photo is anything spectacular. Tyra and Miss J say
that Aminat did Black Girl Model 101 pose, and they then demonstrate
how she did said pose. Aminat interrupts the judges, always a no no,
and says "In my defense, I did move around." Tyra stops that argument
right in it's track by saying, "Actually, you didn't." I wish she added
an "oh no you didn't" to the end of it, but instead Tyra lectures
Aminat about how she thinks she's working it in a shot, but she's not.
Paulina chimes in, "You are beautiful, but you are boring." To this,
Aminat yells "I'm not boring!" Definitely in the bottom two for that
one Aminat.
Natalie is next and while she took a good photo, it's basically the
same 1/2 sexy, 1/2 sour pose she's done on all season. Unfortunately,
Natalie seems to have gotten some ideas from Aminat's talking back to
the judges and says that her boring pose was all Mister Jay's fault.
She says that she tried to change the pose but Mister Jay said it was
perfect and forced her to do the exact same pose 50 times. Tyra's eyes
may actually roll in to the back of her head when Natalie says this.
The judges aren't sold on Celia's photo, she says it's sultry, but they
think it lacks the sparkle of Carmen Miranda. I have to agree, it's not
a great photo of Celia and there's no joy in it. Tyra tells Celia the
photo was the weakest of the competition and Celia says she agrees.
Allison is next and the judges are in love with her photo. And I can
see why, it's adorable, flirty, and fun. Nigel says she looks active,
alive, and sexy. Call me crazy, but I bet Allison wins this week's top
spot.
It's Fo's turn for critique. While the judges like the final
photo, they think the fashion is missing from the shot. Tyra says if Fo
"pulled a little more model out, it would have been a great shot." Last
up is Teyona, and as always, the judges go wild for her. Nigel says,
"it's not Carmen Miranda, but it's amazing." The judges agree it's a
sassy photo and one of the strongest of the bunch, even with 25 less
frames than anyone else.
It's time for the judges to deliberate. As expected, they dog on
Natalie and her predictable look. The judges are crazy for Allison's
photo and impressed she really brought up her performance a notch this
week. Nigel says Allison got what the epitome of the photo was about.
The judges are worried Fo gives more personality than fashion, but Miss
J loves the shot. Everyone is confused by Aminat's lack luster
performance. Tyra says that Aminat, is "the noun not the verb," when it
comes to modeling. (She looks it, but doesn't do it.) The judges are
harsh about Celia and her age finally comes up, in a big way. Tyra says
when she's editing Celia's photo, that Celia doesn't look 25, but
rather Tyra's age. Ouch. Next is the judges sweetheart, Teyona. While
Teyona "isn't pretty" she's a model, which gets Tyra talking about the
different between pretty and model pretty. We know Tyra, we've heard it
all before. Miss J squashes the conversation by saying, "At least she
took a nice picture for a change." Apparently Miss J is not on Team
Teyona like the rest of the judges.
It's time for the judges decision, who took the strongest photo this
week? Allison! Hooray Creepy Chan is back and with a vengeance. Next is
the judges darling, Teyona. Teyona is followed by Fo and Celia. Just as
suspected, the bottom two tonight are Aminat and Natalie. It's strange
that they're in the bottom two together. They're both the tallest and
leanest of the bunch, the most obvious models of the bunch.
Tyra tells Natalie that while she's one of the prettiest girls in the
competition, she is completely uninspiring. True Tyra, very true. As
for Aminat, Tyra says she has the best body of the bunch, but that her
fierceness is stuck in her head. Wow, Tyra is really bringing the Paula
Abdul to the table tonight. So who stays and who goes? Aminat stays,
with Natalie being eliminated.
Natalie looks crestfallen, but also completely disinterested in what
Tyra has to say to her. Basically Tyra says that if modeling were just
about pretty pictures, Natalie would already be a supermodel. In her
post-elimination confessional Natalie says she's confused as to why
she's going home, but the she plans on going home and starting over.
Hopefully, with a new attitude.
