Aside from the good-looking girls, fierce judges and cutthroat challenges on the show
America’s Next Top Model, another feature to watch out for is the modern mansion hovering over Los Angeles the aspiring contestants reside in.
America’s Next Top Model, created by and starring Tyra Banks, is a competitive reality television show showcasing 13 aspiring girls contending for a chance to be recognized as the “next top model.” In addition, the hopefuls are put through numerous tests and challenges to determine the winner of a $100,000 modeling contract with CoverGirl, a spread in Elle and a representation by Ford Models. Moreover, the model wannabes will be living in a modern mansion artistically created and lavished with spanking new amenities.
Apart from the usual themed bedroom, Jeff Hall, production designer of
America’s Next Top Model, strategically created a contemporary atmosphere, which encourages the contestants to reach and focus on their goals. He told TV Guide, "It allows for a little bit of fantasy and it's playful."
As for the rest of the house, the living room depicts the overall essence of why the contestants are residing in Los Angeles. With all sorts of furniture to capture the whole picture such as a coffee table which doubles as a catwalk, and high ceilings, walls and sofas saturated with portraits of Tyra Banks. The kitchen and dining area gives the ambiance of a chic Los Angeles restaurant. The mansion also contains a pool where the contestants can relax and unwind, as well as travertine-tiled patio. Furthermore, the most unique feature of the mansion is the terrace, which gives the contestants an overview of the city and enables them to watch sunsets.
