America's Next Top Model

Exclusive Interview: Dominique of 'America's Next Top Model'
Love her or hate her, Dominique certainly made things interesting on this cycle of America's Next Top Model.  She came in to the competition as the underdog, with the judges and her fellow models dismissing her as someone who couldn't cut it in the industry.  Yet, Dominique was convinced that she could make it and, time and time again, prevailed over the other girls in the competition.  She listened to direction and pushed herself to improve.  Dominique made it all the way to the final four before being cut on last night's episode.  Today, she talked to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview.

Have you always wanted to become a model?

Oh my God, ever since I was old enough to watch tv.  It's always been in me!

Did you watch previous cycles of America's Next Top Model?  Have you followed the show over the years?

I've been watching Top Model since the 1st cycle.  I just kept telling myself that I could do it.  I tried out like, 5 times before I made it.  I really thought cycle 9 was it for me and I never got there.  Cycle 10 actually called me and asked me to try out again.  I was really ready for it.

You're quite a character this season.  Do you like the way you're being portrayed?  You're showing up all over television, like on The Soup and Best Week Ever.

I think I'm funny and I think it's entertaining.  It is pretty accurate!  I'm really grounded with myself.

What was it about the other girls that made you clash with them?

I mean, and you have to agree, with this cycle, everybody has strong personalities.  Of course, there are going to be times where we clash.  At the end of the day, though, it was a priceless experience with these 14 girls.  Not any other 14 girls, these 14 girls.

There have been a few surprising eliminations this cycle.  Were there any that shocked you?

I was really disappointed to see Claire go home when she did.

Do you think that you had the weakest photo on last night's episode and, therefore, deserved to go home?

If you really listened, all the girls dropped the ball.  I guess it really wasn't mean to be but just because I'm not America's Next Top Model doesn't mean I'm not going to be successful in the modeling industry.

So you'll keep pursuing this?

As far as modeling, definitely!  I want to try acting, do some correspondence work, and I want my own fashion line.  You know, whatever you're passionate about, do it.  I'm proud of myself for making it as far as I did.  I mean, final four!

Well, I just wanted to thank you so much for your time.  Good luck, Dominique!

Thank you.
