America's Next Top Model

Yesterday, we took a look at the ten worst photos of Cycle 11 of America's Next Top Model. Well, now it's time to wipe your mind clean of that unpleasantness, and get ready for some pretty!

To be accurate, some pretty, some weird, I like both versions of the successful high-fashion photo. This season, we had, overall, a pretty good crop of photos to choose from, but as I reviewed them and singled out some for this list, I had a few real surprises.

The list is arranged by order of episode; I could pick the top ones, but trying to establish some kind of order within those top ten is beyond me; they're like snowflakes! Or children! Or apples and oranges! Or some other thing where it's challenging to pick favorites.

As to the surprises on the list....

For one thing: this cycle is the season of the blond.

For another, one modelette didn't make it on this list as often as I would have thought, as she consistently made it into the Best category in my weekly columns. It turns out that although she was more regularly at that high fashion level, her actual individual photos didn't always beat out another shot from that same episode.

Another surprise: one modelette turned out to have an opposite story. My impression of her was less high-fashion, but when I picked photos, she really stood out.

And one final surprise: one of the top three didn't make it onto my list once! I went back and looked twice but just couldn't see it.
