There’s a reason that people call
Tyra Banks the next Oprah. The reality and talk show host is clearly looking to start an empire. This year, she announced a spinoff of her hit show,
America’s Next Top Model, called
Operation Fabulous.
Top Model photo coach Jay Manuel and runway coach Miss J. Alexander will travel around the country, transforming women from drab to fab. Her newest reality show, Stylista, the search for the next great fashion editor, is currently airing on the CW network. She is the executive producer of both
Operation Fabulous and
Stylista. Banks recently teamed up with Ashton Kutcher (
That 70s Show,
Punk’d) for her latest project,
True Beauty. Details surrounding the show have been kept quiet – until now.
True Beauty will air on ABC and will premiere in January of 2009. Ten hot people, six women and four men, will live together in a house and compete in a series of challenges to determine who is “truly the most beautiful”. The contestants will face a panel of judges that will not only assess their outer beauty, but their inner beauty as well. However, they will not know that they are being judged on their inner beauty until after they are eliminated. Once removed from the game, the eliminated contestant is shown a video of their behavior in that week’s challenge.
Those who stay away from cattiness, selfish behavior, gossiping and the like will advance far in this competition. The winner will not only receive a cash prize, but a spot in People magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful People issue. Actress and former MTV personality Vanessa Minnillo has signed on to pull double duty as host of the show and a judge. Sitting alongside her at panel will be supermodel Cheryl Tiegs and Nole Marin, who serves on the judging panel of
America’s Next Top Model in the early seasons.
