America's Next Top Model: Jaslene Gonzalez Helps Make 'Teens Count'
Now, we're all quite excited about this week's announcement of the 14 new modelettes who will be in the running to become America's Next Top Model in Cycle 10. But of course, we still have a little while before we get to know their full stories and personalities, so in the meantime, we can always keep up with some of our previous favorites and winners.

Saleisha Stowers seems to be lying low amidst the lingering controversy of her Cycle 9 win, so going back a little farther, we find Cycle 8 winner Jaslene Gonzalez continuing to use the attention she gained through America's Next Top Model to help support the causes she believes in. She's already lent her voice to the cause of helping young people avoid the same negative cycle of an abusive relationship, an experience she went through herself. This weekend, she made an appearance to make sure that “Teens Count.”

The America's Next Top Model winner headed to Washington, DC to host The CW Washington DC "Teens Count" High School Fashion Battle.

The event is a fashion show competition in which local high schools compete for prizes, including a trip to meet Baby Phat CEO and all-around fashionista Kimora Lee Simmons. The event will benefit a non-profit organization whose mission is providing rewarding experiences for local area youth who are interested in pursuing a career in the performing arts.

While Jaslene took on the hosting duties, the judging was handled by singer/actress Taraji Henson of Hustle and Flow fame, and Paul Wharton, whose credits include MTV's Made, VH-1's The Agency, and TV Land's upcoming model show, She's Got The LookAmerica's Next Top Model fans might also recognize Paul as the host of The CW's special feature Top Model Makeover.

The Cha Cha Diva will also continue to work with Lot 29, so fans of Jaslene can expect to see more of her in 2008.
