America's Next Top Model: Episode 10.12 "Ready For My Close-Up" Live Thoughts
Share This Share this
Previously on America's Next Top Model, Tyra Banks herself got behind the camera to shoot some gorgeous photos of the modelettes.  Katarzyna looked like she was walking like an Egyptian too much, so she got the boot.  Only four girls remain: Whitney, Anya, Dominique and Fatima.  Who will be eliminated tonight?  Keep refreshing your browser; I'll be here with live thoughts throughout the hour.

Tonight's episode of America's Next Top Model begins with a confessional from Whitney.  She is shocked that she made it to the final four after being in the bottom two so many times.

Anya isn't worried about her competition.  Does anyone else think that she sounds like a female Frankie Godoy from Make Me A Supermodel?  Dominique thinks that she is the Saleisha of the competition, despite being old and bitchy.  The three other girls talk about her and her poor eating habits behind her back.

The girls get TyraMail.  The best thing about being in Italy now is that they don't have that horrible electronic scrolling TyraMail that makes them sound like idiots.  The girls are chauffeured to an outdoor photo shoot.  Paulina Porizkova is prancing around on the lawn.  The hoity-toity photographer gives each of the girls a camera.  In order to help them gain a better idea of how to take good pictures, each girl gets to play photographer for the other modelettes.  Then, Ann Shoket, the editor-in-chief of Seventeen, shows up to explain their challenge.  They must photograph a real model, and the winner will receive 50 extra frames in their own photoshoot later on.  The real model is none other than Paulina!

Fatima goes first and does a great job in giving direction.  Paulina thinks that Fatima direction was strong and confident.  Dominique is second and has trouble giving specific directions.  After she gets the one-minute warning, Dominique spouts off with fashion photographer clichés.  Paulina also likes working with Whitney, who is fun and direct.  Anya gives Paulina tons of props to play with, but she is too unfocused and all over the place.

And now the critiques.  Whitney took great beauty shots and gave great direction.  Anya was the most fun, but was hit or miss.  Fatima had the most diversity of poses and shots.  And the winner of the challenge is Fatima.  She's psyched to win her first challenge.  Dominique didn't have any good critiques, really.

Back at the ranch, Fatima practices her walk while Dominique bitches about her.

TyraMail!  The modelettes meet Mr. Jay for their photoshoot.  They'll be dressed up like '50s stars, with a hot male model on their arm, and stalked by a paparazzo.  And Nigel Barker is the photographer!  Anya looks the part of a movie star, but has trouble making the shot believable.  Looks like Fatima really needs all of her 50 extra frames.  Whitney is too posey at first, and it's unclear whether she steps up.  Dominique also falls into the posey trap.  Mr. Jay is disappointed with all of them.

America's Next Top Model panel time!  The panel opens with a fierce black and white shot of Tyra Banks holding a camera.  Tyra introduces her judges with, like, twelve different voices.  Are we sure that she doesn't have multiple personality disorder?

First on the spot is Anya.  Tyra loves Anya's shot.  Both Nigel and Paulina commend her for her energy, but warn her to try to focus more.  Whitney's photo isn't very convincing, but still very beautiful in the photo.  Dominique gets a whole bunch of criticism on the outfit she's wearing.  Paulina thinks that Dominique looks like a tranny in her photo.  Fatima's photo is just a pretty picture.

The judges deliberate.

"Four beautiful ladies stand before me, but I only have three photos in my hand."  First to be called: Anya.  The next is Whitney.

Dominique and Fatima step forward.  And praise the gods of couture, Dominique's name was not called.  Yay!  Fatima has been spared for one more week.

Who had the best photo tonight?
Anya
Dominique
Fatima
Whitney
