On tonight’s episode of
America’s Next Top Model, the final group of models moved in to their new apartment in New York. They met their new judge,
Paulina Porizkova, but she didn’t bring much besides criticism to the table at their first meeting. The models participated in a fashion show soon after arriving in the city and did a photo shoot raising awareness about an important issue. One model made a shocking confession at panel, causing a memorable elimination.
The New York City apartment is spacious but only has two bedrooms. One room has bunkbeds in it while the other has one giant bed for the girls to share. The place also has a catwalk in it for the girls to practice on. The walls are adorned with pictures of past
Top Model winners and inspirational quotes to motivate them throughout the competition.
The models head right out to Times Square with Jay Manuel and Miss J. There, the find out that they’ll be participating in a fashion show that night. Mark Badgley and James Mischka are the guest designers for the evening, getting things off to a very high profile start. While models such as
Dominique and
Anya exude confidence and a strong walk, others struggle to make a good impression. Back at the apartment, they receive Tyra Mail letting them know that they’ll soon be headed to their first photo shoot.
The photo shoot raises awareness about young people dealing with homelessness. The models are paired with an actual homeless person. Most of the girls bring thoughtfulness and passion to their photo shoots. Jay felt that
Atalya just kept making the same face in every frame while
Amis was unfocused and hard to direct.
Kimberly did not bring intensity to what she was doing while
Lauren seemed uncomfortable and uptight. Anya and Fatima gave standout performances and solidified themselves as early favorites.
At judges panel, Kim shocked everyone by announcing that fashion didn't interest her. Tyra asked her if she wanted to leave the competition and Kim said yes. Minutes later, she was gone but that didn't mean the girls escaped an elimination. Tyra calls Anya first, followed by Claire, Whitney, Lauren, Aimee, and Fatima. After that, she calls Marvita, Katarzyna, Stacy-Ann, Dominique, and Allison. That left Amis and Atalya in the bottom two.
