Take a trip (and perhaps a stumble) down the Top Model runway with me tonight, as the girls are treated to a runway etiquette lesson by Miss J. Lets watch together and see who is a runway natural and who who will have this cycle's worst walk.
And the first girl spoken to in depth and thus, the girl going home? Nijah. Nijah is talking about how "she'll get it right next week," which is a reality TV death knell.
Tahlia says she doesn't haven't the technique, confidence, or knowledge about modeling--and we have to agree. Aminat says to her, "all you have to do is look good, have fun, and be interesting. If you can't do that you deserve to be sent home." Aminat makes it sound not only simple but fun, though I doubt it is 100% either.
Natalie thinks she has a good runway walk and has previous modeling experience and thinks she is going to win it. Aminat is not impressed with this, tells her to eat some humble pie and relax. But Natalie keeps on giving her "experienced model" talk to the rest of the girls. This is going to get old fast, Natalie should know no one likes a know-it-all in the
Top Model house.
Though Allison doesn't know-it-all, she does know that she has a bad walk and is nervous about this week's runway theme. She says she has to make sure she doesn't over analyze.
The girls are taken in the plaid monstrosity to a gorgeous old mansion. Miss J comes down the grand stairs with a bouffant 'do, pearls, and satin pj's. He says the girls look terrible and need to go change, which they do, in to pearls, heels, cardigans, and khaki's.
Miss J says today's walk is going to be about grace, poise, and elegance, which could be a challenge with this group of girls. So far so good, Celia, Aminat, and Nijah all have decent walks. Meanwhile Miss J teases Sandra about a "naughty shoulder wiggle." For a moment I think I actually see Sandra smile. Tahlia's walk is, as expected, awful. And Allison looks like she is about to tip over on the runway. To improve her balance, Miss J puts a book on top of Allison's head and made her walk the runway, somehow she actually did better with the book. Miss J loves Natalie and her walk and confidence, which Fo gives her props for. After Natalie's 30th runway lecture, I'm certain Fo's praise will cease.
The girls are surprised by two Top Model blasts from the past, Bianca and Chantal from Cycle 9. I am just so thankful it is not Cycle 9 winner, Saleisha Stowers, phew! Miss J says Bianca and Chantal are two girls who have mastered Miss J's runway etiquette, including "giving model space." Whatever that means, I'm sure we'll find out later. Chantal says "be natural" to the girls and Bianca says "don't over think it." At this point, Allison's already bulging eyes look like they are going to pop out of her head.
Back at the house, the girls engage in a game of truth or dare. They are talking more to Nijah and she's commenting about how great of a personality she has and how that's going to benefit her. Unfortunately, I know better and hear funeral music in my head for Nijah. If they are talking to you about this, you are doomed. During a truth turn in the game, Natalie is asked who she thought had the worst photo last week other than Jessica. After some consideration Natalie says she thinks Tahlia had the worst photo. Natalie's answer pisses Tahlia off and she says the gloves are going to come off against Natalie. Not gonna lie, wouldn't mind seeing that cat fight. My money would go on Tahlia too, I bet she's scrappy.
