Last week on Cycle 11 of America's Next Top Model
, we saw transgendered contestant Isis continue to slip from her strong start, Samantha emerge from her makeover with an edgy cut and a new attitude that landed her a great photo, and pretty Brittany getting sent home.
We still have a lot of modelettes on the playing field, and as both Lauren Brie and Samantha have reminded me, mediocre performance one week early on is not necessarily an indicator that an awesome shot is out of the question. However, with a few more shoots under our belts, who seems to be trending down on America's Next Top Model
America's Next Top Model is available on Amazon Prime.
Based on the judges' comments, I think that Clark, Analeigh, Isis and Hannah could be at risk. Each of them has some strengths, but the last shot also revealed their weaknesses.
Clark needs to log some serious mirror time as her face does not seem to naturally photograph as well as she comes across live. Analeigh has a lot of potential, in my opinion, but she is getting negative feedback from the judges and seems to need to also practice in preparation for her shoots. Isis seems to be increasingly uncomfortable in the competition and it appears to be impacting her performance. The shot Tyra Banks picked last week of Hannah was not that bad, but her odd Norma Desmond eyes-bugging-out performance during the actual shoot showed her lack of experience.
Most of the other girls – Samantha, Lauren Brie, Elina, Marjorie, McKey and Joslyn – all seem to have some solid modeling potential, so I will be interested to see what they do next.
The one girl I can't figure out is Sheena. While beautiful, she hasn't yet really impressed me as a model, per se. That said, she still has a lot of charisma, and that can take a modelette far on America's Next Top Model. She was a bit under the radar last episode so we will have to wait and see which way her story is edited this week on America's Next Top Model.
