America's Next Top Model: Casting Continues For Cycle 11
Tuesday, June 10, 2008

It seems that America’s Next Top Model still hasn’t found what they’re looking for. Nationwide open casting calls were held in March and April but the show has recently added a few more dates to look at potential participants. This past Saturday, nearly 200 women showed up at The Radisson Centre in Utica, NY but only one spot was available. That woman would go on to the larger casting call in New York City where she is guaranteed to go in front of the judges. The winner of that Utica casting call has yet to be named but it seems that Top Model is still in full casting mode for its upcoming season.

Models who have previously tried out but didn’t make the final cut are welcome to try out again this year. That is exactly how models like Jaslene and Marvita ended up on the show, by coming back and trying out after being cut. Females between the ages of 18-27 who are over 5’7 are welcome to apply and no weight is specified on the eligibility requirements. Being vertically challenged doesn’t mean that you still shouldn’t consider sending in that application or attending a casting call. After all, cycle 3 winner Eva Pigford was only 5’6.

Eligibility states that you cannot have modeled professionally in the last 5 years, a stipulation that caused much controversy when Saleisha Stowers won cycle 9. Just a year before winning, she modeled for Project Runway designer Rami Kashou on Tyra’s talk show. The show states that their candidates must be in excellent mental health though they’ve let a few nutjobs slide right by and into the Top Model house.

America’s Next Top Model is looking to begin filming for cycle 11 soon, as they plan to wrap by late August. The show will air on the CW beginning this September.

Will you watch cycle 11 of Top Model?
Yes, of course.
No, it's starting to get old.
