America's Next Top Model - Best and Worst Photos of the Week - Episode 10

Well, this was a disappointing week for this particular America's Next Top Model column.

Oh sure, I have some picks for you, but this week, the girl who has been the most consistently interesting to see photographed was sent home.  Yes, Brittany eventually became a little grating and weepy, but man could that girl take a picture.

And this week, her pics were probably my favorites, but she's gone and it's time for the healing to begin!  So I decided to give the top spot to another strong contender...

SHE BROUGHT IT

It's Natasha!  And she brought it not just once!

But twice!

Our little Russian girl didn't just deliver a beautiful shot, but also really seemed to grasp the different aims of each shoot and create an appropriate mood for each: overt sexuality for the lad mag picture, and the dialed-back editorial posing for her women's magazine shoot with Tyra.

As the judges noted, Natasha has made vast improvements since her first few shoots.  She seems to be soaking up the feedback and making the appropriate changes week to week.

Not so much for another girl...

OH NO SHE DIDN'T

Who didn't?  Dionne didn't.

Here is a conundrum.  Please see the below two shots that Dionne took during the formal photo shoots.

Pretty girl, right?  But, as the judges pointed out: she looks mean.  Grumpy. Not thrilled to be lounging on a beach with a hot dude.  Not happily modeling a smoking outfit.   She looks like she would rather been getting a manicure or taking a nap.  The judges were right to eliminate Brittany for not booking any designers, but Dionne definitely deserved to be in the bottom two because she isn't selling a thing in either of the above shots.

Now check out these two shots from CW's collection of candid episode pictures:

Cuteness!  Okay, they is still a mild undertone of grumpiness in both of these shots, but they are still exponentially more approachable and appealing than the looks she delivered in the formal shoot.  If she could somehow loosen up like this when she actually shooting - as opposed to when she's relaxing before and during - she could really start to impress the judges.

If not, I can't imagine that she will be able to make it into the final three.  It's "Easy, Breezy, Beautiful Cover Girl." Not "Meany Meany Beautiful Cover Girl."
