Gwen Uszuko is one of the contestants appearing on the TV Guide network’s new reality television series, America’s Next Producer. She was born on December 31, 1984, and is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gwen studied at the University of Notre Dame and presently lives in Denver, Colorado. Her favorite genre to work with is drama, though she dislikes the egos occasionally encountered in the industry. Gwen believes that aspiring producers should start small, such as with internships, but also think big. She also says that she loves unleashing her creative and personable self as a producer, and that having a good attitude is essential for success.
Among her favorite television shows at present is the Emmy Award-winning HBO series
Entourage , and she also enjoyed the film Smokin’ Aces. Gwen remains proud of her own project, which was a Web documentary featuring the Denver band Single File, complete with music videos and interviews. Her favorite directors are Christopher Guest and Baz Luhrmann, while she also admires actress Tina Fey for being able to write, produce and act. Gwen believes that there’s always something new to learn as a producer, and she would love the opportunity to work with Selma Hayek.
