Daniel Hosea is one of the contestants appearing on the TV Guide network’s new reality television series, America’s Next Producer. Born on September 8, 1973, this native of Iowa City also graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, and he presently resides in New York City. Daniel says that as a producer, he loves taking a concept and turning it into a compelling television show, and that he would enjoy working on a documentary-type reality program such as Intervention. However, he also dislikes how there are numerous big talkers and big promises in the industry that never actually happen.
Despite such pet peeves, he advises aspiring producers and newcomers to the playing field to get any job they can, even low-level positions, and that they’ll eventually move up if they’re good enough. Daniel says that his must-have production tools are a camera and editing equipment, and that his favorite recent films are The Departed and Grindhouse. He also enjoyed television shows such as
Weeds ,
Guiding Light and Intervention, while remaining proud of his own previous project, Early Today on NBC. Daniel considers both Oprah Winfrey and Tyra Banks to be innovative producers, due to their success in using their personalities and turning them into highly successful talk shows and prime-time series.
